Alpha Delta Pi’s second Week of Service is Oct 17th through Oct 25th! In celebration of our 41st anniversary partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, we are asking alumnae to choose one day throughout this week to give back. Whether you give to RMHC or volunteer for another organization within your community, we are asking all alumnae to participate! Alumnae, collegians, and friends of ADPi are all invited to join. How will you give back?
What kind of activities should we plan for week of service?
Any service activity! From volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, to hosting a virtual 5k, there are many ways to give back! Please see below for a list of possible event ideas, including virtual events, and for other ways to give back.
Be sure to contact your local RMHC or other local charity to determine what their greatest needs are at this time!
Who is included?
All members of Alpha Delta Pi – both Alumnae and Collegians, as well as all non- Alpha Delta Pi family and friends!
Are there any restrictions?
If hosting an in-person event, it is very important you adhere to any orders and ordinances of your city, county, and state in regards to social distancing and in-person gatherings.
Be sure to register your event with the charity and request their guidelines. Some organizations require advance notice of attendees or may not want children in attendance. Check if your event needs to be registered with the community.

Why register an event?
We want all ADPis to have the opportunity to participate, including sisters who may be visiting your area. This will help from overlapping events and increase the number of sisters who can participate.
The individual who registers the event is considered the host. This should be the designated point-person responsible for event details, answering questions, organizing a committee for the event, etc. After Week of Service concludes, the registered host will receive a survey to collect information about the event.
Where should we post our photos?
Share photos on your social media channels and be sure to use the hashtags #ADPiWeekofService #ADPilovesRMHC. You can also email high quality photos to photos@alphadeltapi.com.
What do we do after the event?
Let us know how it went! Share photos on your social media channels. Note your attendance and hours. Results from the week will be shared! Registered participants should be on the lookout for a survey as well
If I am participating in an event, should I register for the event?
Yes! If you are participating in an event, it is important that you register to for it, as some events have a limited capacity for volunteers. Registering for an event will also allow you to receive information from your event host in the event of any changes.
It is important to note that while non-Alpha Delta Pi family and friends are welcome to participate in Week of Service, a member of Alpha Delta Pi will need to complete the registration for those individuals, as the event registration form is housed in Pride Online.
- Volunteer at a local Ronald McDonald House
- Make meal for the families, host a shower or item drive for the needs of the house, bake cookies, create Halloween treat bags or activity bags, offer clean-up services for the house, create a family welcome basket with hygiene products, , etc.
- Make or send masks, collect pop tabs, donate toys in original packaging, donate books, donate household or personal care items on their wishlist, donate gift cards for grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc.
- Volunteer at a local food bank or shelter
- Park/beach clean-up
- Participate in a local charity walk/race, or volunteer for the event
- Fundraise for the RMHC Endowment if you do not live near an RMH
- Host or participate in a safe trick-or-treating/trunk or treat event
- Contact VolunteerMatch
- Create an Amazon wish list
- Sponsor a catered meal
- Host a virtual 5k
- Host a virtual class (yoga, fitness, cooking, photography, etc.)
- Host a Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Thirty-One, etc. party with the proceeds benefiting RMHC
- Donate Gift Cards
- Plan and register an event on the ADPi website.

Sisters- get your knitting needles or crochet hooks ready (keep reading for a non-knitting option)! Help us provide a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, have lost a parent, escaped a war situation, or otherwise in need through the gifts of blankets. All you need to do is knit or crochet 8-inch blanket squares and send them in! Volunteers will sew them together into blankets and distribute the blankets to kids in need. Don’t knit or crochet?? No problem!!! You can make a monetary donation to provide very much-needed school and hygiene kits! Click on the link for all details!
We’re collecting toys and snacks for the families at Ronald McDonald House – Cincinnati. Cincinnati’s Ronald McDonald House is one of the largest Ronald McDonald Houses in the world, caring for 177 families every night, including parents, patients, siblings and other family members. 6 to 8 alumni members will be making dinner for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Dallas.
Rock the Socks Pickleball Social for Ronald McDonald House. We will be hosting a Pickleball social (tournament) to raise money for our local Ronald McDonald House. We need volunteers for the event as well as players (teams of 2). If you are playing then registration is required at the link below. Volunteers can email jrsh2004@gmail.com to sign up.
The Ronald McDonald House post a wishlist every Wednesday of Supplies they need. In order to show our support, we are hosting a supply drive on campus to not only get Alpha Delta Pi involved but also the student body. A table will be set up for students to get an understanding of what RMH does and drop off any supplies they would like to donate. There is no limit on anyone who could come; everyone is welcome. We will meet at the Ronald McDonald House to put together Halloween Goody Bags. After we put them together, we will take a tour of the facility.
Join Zeta Omicron in a Jeni's Ice Cream Social proceeds night on October 29th from 3-6 PM at the Westside Provisions location. 25% of the sales during the night will be donated!
Halloween card making event at the Zeta Omicron house at Georgia Tech during a philanthropy information event for the GAAAA goody bags.
Pop tab girls collect pop tabs through campus organizations and bring them back to the house to be counted! The winning Alpha Class will have an ice cream party after chapter.
We've been collecting tabs throughout the year and I will deliver them to the Winfied Ronald McDonald House during week of service.
Join the Greater Kansas City & North Kansas City Alumnae Associations for a night of delicious food and the company of your sisters while packing treat bags for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City. Follow GKC on social media for a SignUpGenius link to bring treat bag supplies.

Alumnae members will meet at the Wichita RMH to make a meal for family residents and collect donations for the house from the Amazon wishlist. Alpha Eta alum and Executive Director of the Wichita Ronald McDonald House, Susan Smythe will update members on happenings at the RMH. In addition, our alumnae October meeting will be held.
Need volunteers to help with check in table and other activites for MS RMHC Charity Golf Tournament. You dont have to stay the whole time, just let me know what hours you can volunteer. Location: Canebrake Country Club
Our association will be fundraising to purchase 3 shelving units to help reorganize storage closet at RMHC of MS. We will put together the shelving units and help organize storage closet on Nov 2nd. If you would like to donate toward the shelving units you can venmo: LaDonna-McCain
RMHC requested homemade desserts for their charity golf tournament. If you would like to donate a dessert please drop off at address during time listed. These homemade desserts are a stable of the event that teams look forward to every year.
Serving dinner at one of local RMH’s in Spfd
We’ll be serving dinner at our local RMH on Friday evening, dropping off kits/pop tabs while we’re there (11/01 - prep at 4pm, serve between 5:30/6pm) & promoting the Amazon wishlist the week prior.
The Alpha Delta Pi Charlotte Alumnae Association is hosting its fourth annual Fall Festival to benefit the families of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte. This is a time for the community to come together to support the RMHC of Greater Charlotte while bringing joy and smiles to the families the house is serving.
The Fall Festival will include a Spooky Playground, trunk-or-treat, Pumpkin Painting, a Silent Auction, raffle, and more on the lawn of the RMHC of GC House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Any funds or donations above what is needed for the event will be donated to the RMHC of Greater Charlotte.
We will be decorating a parking spot at RMHCincinnati and handing out candy and non-candy treats for families staying at the house along with chapter members from Eta Epsilon-Miami University.
Please let us know if you have some great items for a photo back drop we are providing; not scary or gruesome (no strobe lights or fog please).
We will walk great doggos and play with cats at the League for Animal Welfare! Come anytime between 1pm and 5pm and stay as long as you can or you'd like. You can play with cats and/or walk any number of dogs.
We will meet at member Christine Jauch's home to decorate milestone cards for RMH Cincinnati. We will printing off milestone templates and adding special colors and details to provide a way for guest families to celebrate moments with their critically ill children, and reminding them that people they haven’t met care about them. Please bring wine and/or a snack to share.

Join us for Happy Hour at Old Scratch Pizza, 440 Miamisburg Centerville Road in Washington Township. We will collect items to donate towards the non-profit organization, Crayons to Classroom, which provides essential supplies to teachers of at-risk students across the Greater Dayton Region. Wish-list items: markers, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, children's scissors, filler paper, 70ct spriral notebooks, glue sticks, pocket folders, and construction paper. Beyond Delivery Prep with Postpartum Support Charleston Volunteers

Volunteer at PPS CHS location on James Island. We will prepare items for our monthly deliveries. This includes care package assembly and/or food prep.

Bring your family and friends to a give back night at Chipotle! Benefitting the Ronald McDonald House FW and the ADPI Foundation.
Donating $350 to sponsor lunch on October 29th. We will be partnering with TCU chapter to provide 6 volunteers to serve.
Please join us in preparing dinner for the families at Ronald McDonald House in northeast Seattle. We'll be preparing teriyaki chicken, steamed rice, and vegetables for 150, and you can support the event in one of two ways. First, we need 9 volunteers to prepare the meal. Volunteers must be 16 years or older, and have proof of covid vaccination. Lastly, we need donations of grocery items or cash for grocery items. Following dinner prep, all sisters are invited to dinner at University Village, location to be determined. Register here to participate at RMHC.
