Alpha Delta Pi’s second Week of Service is Oct 17th through Oct 25th! In celebration of our 41st anniversary partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, we are asking alumnae to choose one day throughout this week to give back. Whether you give to RMHC or volunteer for another organization within your community, we are asking all alumnae to participate! Alumnae, collegians, and friends of ADPi are all invited to join. How will you give back?
What kind of activities should we plan for week of service?
Any service activity! From volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, to hosting a virtual 5k, there are many ways to give back! Please see below for a list of possible event ideas, including virtual events, and for other ways to give back.
Be sure to contact your local RMHC or other local charity to determine what their greatest needs are at this time!
Who is included?
All members of Alpha Delta Pi – both Alumnae and Collegians, as well as all non- Alpha Delta Pi family and friends!
Are there any restrictions?
If hosting an in-person event, it is very important you adhere to any orders and ordinances of your city, county, and state in regards to social distancing and in-person gatherings.
Be sure to register your event with the charity and request their guidelines. Some organizations require advance notice of attendees or may not want children in attendance. Check if your event needs to be registered with the community.
What do we wear?
Wear your ADPi letters! Need new ADPi gear? Check out The 1851 Shop. Please remember, you are representing Alpha Delta Pi and your local community.
Why register an event?
We want all ADPis to have the opportunity to participate, including sisters who may be visiting your area. This will help from overlapping events and increase the number of sisters who can participate.
The individual who registers the event is considered the host. This should be the designated point-person responsible for event details, answering questions, organizing a committee for the event, etc. After Week of Service concludes, the registered host will receive a survey to collect information about the event.
Where should we post our photos?
Share photos on your social media channels and be sure to use the hashtags #ADPiWeekofService #ADPilovesRMHC. You can also email high quality photos to photos@alphadeltapi.com.
What do we do after the event?
Let us know how it went! Share photos on your social media channels. Note your attendance and hours. Results from the week will be shared! Registered participants should be on the lookout for a survey as well
If I am participating in an event, should I register for the event?
Yes! If you are participating in an event, it is important that you register to for it, as some events have a limited capacity for volunteers. Registering for an event will also allow you to receive information from your event host in the event of any changes.
It is important to note that while non-Alpha Delta Pi family and friends are welcome to participate in Week of Service, a member of Alpha Delta Pi will need to complete the registration for those individuals, as the event registration form is housed in Pride Online.
- Volunteer at a local Ronald McDonald House
- Make meal for the families, host a shower or item drive for the needs of the house, bake cookies, create Halloween treat bags or activity bags, offer clean-up services for the house, create a family welcome basket with hygiene products, , etc.
- Make or send masks, collect pop tabs, donate toys in original packaging, donate books, donate household or personal care items on their wishlist, donate gift cards for grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc.
- Volunteer at a local food bank or shelter
- Park/beach clean-up
- Participate in a local charity walk/race, or volunteer for the event
- Fundraise for the RMHC Endowment if you do not live near an RMH
- Host or participate in a safe trick-or-treating/trunk or treat event
- Contact VolunteerMatch

- Sponsor a catered meal
- Host a virtual 5k
- Host a virtual class (yoga, fitness, cooking, photography, etc.)

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to the Women’s Pavilion Rose Program in Rogers, Arkansas. Since 1997, Women’s Pavilion, a wigs & mastectomy boutique in Rogers, Arkansas, has been serving the women of Northwest Arkansas with heart-felt care, compassion and expertise. This fundraiser will benefit their Rose Program. Through the Rose Program, women who are uninsured or under-insured are offered gently used and donated mastectomy bras, prosthesis, wigs and turbans at no cost.

The cupboards are nearly bare at the Ronald McDonald Family Room located in Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Each day, 100 people pass through the Family Room. In some cases these snacks have been known to be the family’s dinner. Each of us can do a small part to help provide nourishing or comforting snacks to a family who is dealing with medical struggles. Help us provide a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, have lost a parent, escaped a war situation, or otherwise in need through the gifts of blankets. All you need to do is knit or crochet 8-inch blanket squares and send them in! Volunteers will sew them together into blankets and distribute the blankets to kids in need. Don’t knit or crochet?? The Beta Omega chapter will pass out a collection bucket to each fraternity and sorority on Auburn's campus to collect pop tabs for RMHC. On Wednesday, October 30th, members will retrieve the buckets and determine a winner for the most tabs collected. All tabs will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Mobile, AL
We will be collecting items for the kits for RMHC and will be building the kits at chapter on November 28th. We will then be donating them the RMHC in Birmingham!

At this event, members of the community can purchase mini pumpkins in support of the Ronald McDonald House. It will be held on October 28th from 12 PM until 4:30 PM. We will also have tables set up near the main booth area for people to decorate their pumpkins after purchasing them.
The Ronald McDonald House post a wishlist every Wednesday of Supplies they need. In order to show our support, we are hosting a supply drive on campus to not only get Alpha Delta Pi involved but also the student body. A table will be set up for students to get an understanding of what RMH does and drop off any supplies they would like to donate. There is no limit on anyone who could come; everyone is welcome. We will meet at the Ronald McDonald House to put together Halloween Goody Bags. After we put them together, we will take a tour of the facility.

We will start the day with an informal coffee chat and mingle at Petit Three Doughnuts (3015 E New York St Unit A09, Aurora 60504) at 10am - get a chance to meet others before we start packing!
We will then travel to Feed My Starving Children (555 Exchange Ct, Aurora 60504) and work together as a group and with other organizations/individuals to pack meals to assist in reversing and preventing undernutrition in over 70 countries around the world. The session begins at 11:30 and will end at 1:15 pm.
Rallying for Ronald will take place at the new Family Room at Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge where we will serve lunch along with delivering 24 Halloween baskets, 24 Grab n Go Bags, and many Pantry Wish List Items We will meet in the Lobby of the hospital at 10

The Alpha Delta Pi Charlotte Alumnae Association is hosting its fourth annual Fall Festival to benefit the families of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte. This is a time for the community to come together to support the RMHC of Greater Charlotte while bringing joy and smiles to the families the house is serving.
The Fall Festival will include a Spooky Playground, trunk-or-treat, Pumpkin Painting, a Silent Auction, raffle, and more on the lawn of the RMHC of GC House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Any funds or donations above what is needed for the event will be donated to the RMHC of Greater Charlotte.

We will be decorating a Harry Potter themed parking spot at RMHCincinnati and handing out candy and non-candy treats for families staying at the house along with chapter members from Eta Epsilon-Miami University.

We will printing off milestone templates and adding special colors and details to provide a way for guest families to celebrate moments with their critically ill children, and reminding them that people they haven’t met care about them. We will collect items to donate towards the non-profit organization, Crayons to Classroom, which provides essential supplies to teachers of at-risk students across the Greater Dayton Region. Beyond Delivery Prep with Postpartum Support Charleston Volunteers

Our alumnae association will prepare a taco dinner for the residents of the Columbia, SC Ronald McDonald House on October 29,2024. We will meet there at 5:00pm so the meal will be ready when the residents eat at 6:00pm. We will also be collecting donations for their Pack a Smile program.
We will be collecting stuffed animals, blankets, and go bag items for the new RMHC house in Jackson, TN. We would love for sisters to join us to help make donations to this new house!
Our Alumnae Association has sponsored a hole and will serve as course attendants during the tournament.
We are teaming up with ADK at a dinner to benefit RMHC.

We are meeting up for a service event, at our sister Megan’s house. We are writing letters to veterans and collecting donations for Memphis RMHC. Feel free to bring your pop-tab collection too. This event is partnered with University of Memphis Gamma Eta chapter.

Join us as we lead a keychain making activity at Memphis RMHC for the children staying at the house. This event is open to University of Memphis Gamma Eta chapter members.
Our alumnae association is partnering with One Warm Coat to do a coat drive in area. We are collecting new or gently worn coats, jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, gloves and scarves during the month of October. We will gather on Oct 28 at an alumna's home to sort and label and will then take to the Chatt Foundation the following day. They will distribute them to the homeless and those in need in the greater Chattanooga Area. We are encouraging members to check their own closets, post on social media, possibly collect in their neighborhood, workplace, church, etc. If anyone want to make a monetary donation, we have a direct link to One Warm Coat. Email us if you'd like to participate with collecting, sorting and/or drop off and we will send detail info on locations. The event location is for our final collection day when we will be sorting, labeling, etc. Drop off areas to collect the coats and outwear will be throughout the city to collect in different areas of town. Spa Bags: Items will be purchased that will be appropriate for a Spa Bag; cleanser, face masks, lotions, emory boards, etc. The members will gather Saturday, October 26, to compile the bags. We hope to have bags for women and men!
Dinner will be prepared for the guests staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
Sisters will help clean or organize an assigned area of the Ronald McDonald House.
RMHC Nashville has an urgent need for cleaning supplies - specifically Clorox wipes. From now until Nov 2nd, we are collecting Wish List items for the House with a focus on these items. Items can be purchased from the link below and sent directly to the House. We will also collect remaining items at our meeting on Nov 3rd to deliver to RMHC Nashville. Donating $350 to sponsor lunch on October 29th. We will be partnering with TCU chapter to provide 6 volunteers to serve.
Join us on Sunday October 27 from 1:00-4:00pm to bake homemade treats for the families at RMH. All supplies will be provided just bring your smiles and baking hands!
The Houston ADPi Alumnae Association is catering dinner and hosting trick or treating at the Houston Ronald McDonald House - Holcombe House on October 31st! 👻🎃👻🎃 Costumes are HIGHLY encouraged to make the night more fun for the kiddos and we would love to have any sisters interested come out and participate.

Northern Virginia Alums will gather at a hip coffee shop to socialize and prepare toiletry bags and Grab-n-go snack packs for our local Northern Virginia Ronald McDonald House. Sisters should bring their unopened hotel and travel sized toiletries & any small "gift w/ purchase" make up bags.
This event is held as part of the National Alpha Delta Pi week of service. The timing happens when the restaurant is less busy for assembling our toiletry & snack packs. $5 all day Mimosas available for purchase as well as a yummy a la carte brunch menu. Order downstairs upon arrival and come on up to the wine bar.

Please join us in preparing dinner for the families at Ronald McDonald House in northeast Seattle. We'll be preparing teriyaki chicken, steamed rice, and vegetables for 150, and you can support the event in one of two ways. First, we need 9 volunteers to prepare the meal. Volunteers must be 16 years or older, and have proof of covid vaccination. Lastly, we need donations of grocery items or cash for grocery items. Following dinner prep, all sisters are invited to dinner at University Village, location to be determined. Register here to participate at RMHC. The Wheeling, WV Alumnae Association will be collecting female hygiene items to donate to the Wheeling Park High School (WPHS) Community in Schools Program. An Amazon wish list will be available. Members of the Association and Alpha Delta Pi sisters who participate are invited to help us deliver items and have lunch at The Patriot Cafe located in WPHS. Lunch is $10 per person.
