Thank you for your commitment to Alpha Delta Pi and ensuring the success of your chapter! The First 30 Days Checklist is designed to introduce you to your role and resources available to you. While this is not an exhaustive list to govern your entire term of office, it can get you started on the tasks you will need to complete during your first 30 days in office.

Review Contact Information

Ensure your contact information is correct on Pi portal and Pride online. This will 

Meet with Your Out Going Officer

Meet with the outgoing Director of Ritual Education to transition your roles. This is an individual meeting between the outgoing and incoming Director of Ritual Education. This should not be done during the Leadership Planning Workshop.

  • Review the shared content from the Departing Officer Workbook and Incoming Officer Workbook.
  • Transition any chapter files and paperwork, hard copy or digital, you may need.
  • Analyze the success of the previous year’s ritual education review workshops, opportunities for improvement, and /or brainstorm different ways to present these to your chapter.
  • Ensure you know the location of and have access to where ritual equipment is stored.
  • Ensure you have access to or ritual book has been passed on to you and is the most updated version.
  • Check that paraphernalia is organized and in good condition. 
  • Be prepared to conduct ritual events (chapter business meetings, alpha ceremony, diamond days ceremonies, officer installation ceremony).
  • Be prepared to present ritual education during business meetings and chapter retreat.
  • Discuss plans for additional transition meetings if needed, establish communication expectations for questions that arise throughout the year.
  • Meet with your Membership Experience Advisor.
    • Introduce yourself, exchange contact information, and discuss expectations for the upcoming year.
  • Ensure you have access to the most updated ME Planner, Pi Portal, the chapter master calendar 
  • Meet with the Membership Experience Team (Vice President of Membership Experience, Director of New Member Education, Ritual Education Specialist, if applicable, Director of Alumnae Engagement, and Sisterhood Program Specialist).
    • Discuss your roles and the scope of responsibilities.
    • Discuss success, challenges, and issues you might expect during your terms of office.
    • Discuss communication expectations and dates for team meetings.

Learn the Ropes

  • Actively participate in Leadership Transitions and attend the Leadership Planning Workshop.
  • Complete Incoming Officer Workbook prior to Leadership Planning Workshop.
  • Set individual and team goals and expectations for the upcoming year.
  • Obtain and review Alpha Delta Pi:
  • Review information and resources on Pride Online.
